What is Clarivex? ▾
Clarivex is a practitioner-validated data governance lifecycle platform. Structured Governance Discovery — tailored interview packs with stakeholder badges, DAMA-DMBOK knowledge area tags, and session scoring — is the entry point. From there Clarivex covers field mapping into Collibra and Microsoft Purview, root cause analysis, and a structured Academy for CDMP study, closing the gap between governance theory and what practitioners actually experience day to day.
What does the free tier include? ▾
14-day free trial — 3 pack generations, all features unlocked. No credit card needed. All features of the generated pack are fully usable — session scoring, copying questions, and PDF export. Saving packs to your account, the Field Mapper, and unlimited generations require Pro access.
What is the "Governance context" card that appears after my first pack? ▾
An optional card that appears once you have generated your first pack, asking a few questions about the element you are working on — whether it has a documented owner, how sensitive the data is, whether it is already catalogued, which system it lives in, and any known issues you want flagged. Nothing is required, and it can be collapsed with "Keep it simple". Anything you fill in is used directly to sharpen your next pack — for example, naming the source system anchors lineage questions to it by name, and flagging a known issue targets questions around that specific problem instead of a generic sweep.
What are the DAMA-DMBOK focus area pills on the generator screen? ▾
A row of selectable pills, one for each of the ten real DAMA-DMBOK knowledge areas — Data Governance, Data Quality, Data Architecture, Data Modelling, Master and Reference Data, Data Warehousing and BI, Metadata Management, Data Security, Data Integration and Interoperability, and Document and Content Management. Select one or more before generating and Clarivex treats it as a hard requirement — every section it builds must fall under one of your selected areas, weighted toward the ones you picked. Leave none selected and Clarivex chooses whichever areas fit the element best on its own. Every section this produces is tagged with its DMBOK area, shown as a badge on the section and a tooltip on each question explaining why it is governance-relevant.
Who should Clarivex involve — what do the three stakeholder options mean? ▾
Above the stakeholder pills is a control with three modes. "Suggest for me" is the default — pick nobody, and Clarivex proposes the right stakeholders per section on its own. "Only who I pick" is strict — Clarivex uses exactly the people you selected and adds no one else, even if a section would normally have more. "Mine plus suggestions" always keeps your picks, then adds anyone else Clarivex judges important that you may have missed. The moment you select your first stakeholder while still on "Suggest for me", it automatically switches to "Mine plus suggestions" so your pick is never silently dropped — switch to "Only who I pick" yourself if you want the strict version.
What is the difference between a Live session and an Email session? ▾
Before generating, choose how the session will actually run. "Live session" is for a session you run yourself, in person or on a call — you ask the questions and can investigate a data quality issue on the spot with the 5 Whys. "Email to stakeholder" is for sending the questions to someone remotely — they answer in their own time and can flag any data quality concern themselves, and you investigate afterwards once their answers come back. This choice also controls sharing: a Live session pack has no Share button at all, since there is no remote stakeholder to send a link to, while an Email session pack can be shared once saved.
How do I upgrade to Pro? ▾
Click the Upgrade button in the top right. Subscribe at £79/month or £632/year via Stripe. Your account unlocks automatically within seconds of payment.
Does Clarivex save my data? ▾
Free users: generated packs are not saved to the server — use PDF export to keep a copy. Pro users: packs are saved securely to your account and accessible on any device.
How do the Collibra and Purview mappers work? ▾
The Field Mapper tab pushes your pack directly into your own Collibra or Purview instance, not a copy-and-paste flow. Enter your Collibra site URL and login, or your Purview tenant, client and account details, test the connection, then click Push. Clarivex builds a real asset from your pack — name, description, owner, sensitivity, quality, lineage, retention — and creates it in your catalogue via the platform's own API, returning a real asset ID on success. Your credentials are encrypted before they are ever stored, and every successful push is logged for your own audit trail.
Can I use Clarivex offline? ▾
The Template Library is built in and works without internet. Pack generation requires an internet connection. Pro users can access their saved packs at any time once logged in.
Who built Clarivex? ▾
Clarivex is a product of Clarivex Limited — a data technology company registered in England and Wales, Manchester. Built by a team of CDMP-certified Data Management professionals. We are on a mission to make enterprise-grade governance tooling accessible to every practitioner, not just organisations that can afford Collibra implementations.
